Columbia County, GA – WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that tempers flared last Thursday in Martinez concerning a Nerf war.

According to an incident report, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home on 1700 Opal Court in reference to a trouble with a subject.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with 18-year-old John Michael Conley, who told them that he and another teen were “arguing about Nerf wars”. The other teen was reportedly upset because Conley “told him that his team was
no longer in the game.”

Both Conley and the other teen admitted that there were some words exchanged and Conley reportedly walked away. The teen then allegedly ran up behind Conley as he was walking away and pushed him.

The deputies’ investigation revealed that the teen and Conley had spoken on the telephone about 30 minutes after deputies left and apologized to each other.

No charges were filed.
