Augusta, Georgia – Several inches of rain will hit the CSRA through the weekend. Many counties are monitoring Hurricane Joaquin and asking residents to keep a close eye on the forecast.
Students catching the bus should have an umbrella close by and anyone making the commute to work Friday should be careful on the roads. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch starting Friday morning and lasting through Monday morning.
Should any flash flood warnings be issued over the weekend, you should be prepared to move to higher ground and possibly move essential items to the upper floor of your homes. Again, this is only if a flash flood warning is issued this weekend.
“So although we’re not going to see any kind of direct impact from Joaquin in terms of landfall we are still going to be feeling the effects as it rides up the Eastern seaboard.” Said News Channel 6 Meteorologist Ed Bloodsworth.
