The South Carolina Emergency Management Division is has released an update on flooding across the state.
The South Carolina Emergency Operations Center is fully activated at Operating Condition 1 by state agencies of the State Emergency Response Team for the duration of the incident.
South Carolina Highway Patrol reports three weather-related traffic fatalities. There have responded to 439 traffic collisions on roadways.
SCEM also reports SC Highway Patrol assisted 170 motorists, 118 trees on roadways, and 104 reports of flooded roads.
Shelters have been opened in Anderson, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Georgetown, Horry and Spartanburg counties. Other shelters in Anderson, Colleton and Spartanburg counties are on stand-by if needed.
The South Carolina National Guard and the state Department of Transportation continue working to fill and deliver sandbags to SCDOT districts for local public safety agencies’ use. Resource requests for bags being processed.
The S.C. Office of Regulatory Staff reports a total 2,992 power outages statewide.
