Florence County Residents Under Mandatory Curfew

Florence County, SC (WBTW) – As more rainfall hits Florence County Sunday, conditions throughout the county are continuing to deteriorate and are becoming more hazardous by the hour.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., the Florence County Council issued a proclamation declaring a State of Emergency for all of Florence County due to the extraordinary rainfall. Pursuant to the Proclamation, the Florence County Director of Emergency Management, the Florence County Administrator, and the Sheriff of Florence County herby implement the following:

A countywide mandatory curfew from 7 P.M. until sunrise for non-emergency activities. Exceptions to the curfew include essential public safety/medical employees, and essential industry staff until the proclamation is rescinded.

The mandatory evacuation of Nena Ln, Split Rail Drive,  E. Black Creek Drive, Stag Horn Lane, Atlee Court, Crooked Creek Drive and Creekside Drive.

The danger to the public will increase as darkness falls, and visibility is further reduced. Do not attempt to enter flooded areas as it could pose an immediate threat to your safety.
