2 Bibb County deputies fired, charged after investigation

MACON, Ga. (AP) — Two corrections deputies at the Bibb County jail have been arrested and fired after having been accused of having improper interactions with inmates.

Local media in Macon report that 27-year-old DeAngelo D. Dixon and 38-year-old Rogers L. Zellner were fired Monday after an internal investigation by the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff David Davis said in a news release that Dixon received the phone number of a woman from an inmate. Davis says the deputy received oral sex as payment from the woman at a hotel. Dixon has been charged with misdemeanor solicitation of sodomy and violation of oath of office by an officer

Davis says Zellner was paid to pass cellphone chargers to an inmate. He’s charged with trading with inmates without the consent of the warden or superintendent
