McDuffie County, GA – According to WTHO radio in Thomson, officials say a plea agreement was filed in federal court Thursday in the case of former McDuffie County EMS Director Tim Edwards.

According to Edwards’ attorney, Victor Hawk, Edwards pleaded guilty to Possession of Child Pornography.

Hawk told WTHO that a hearing will most likely be set before a federal judge next week. During that hearing, the judge will decide whether or not to accept Edwards’ plea agreement. Sentencing, Hawk added, could come in late November or early December.

Edwards resigned his position on May 11th  less than a week after federal agents raided the McDuffie County EMS headquarters, on May 6th. U.S. Department of Homeland Security investigators confirmed that special agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) served a search warrant there.

We will continue to follow this developing story and provide the latest information as it becomes available.
