HEPHZIBAH, Ga . – We have learned more information concerning schools in Hephzibah being placed on soft lockdown Friday morning.
Friday morning, a group of students reported a Facebook post about a possible school shooting that would occur on Friday afternoon at Hephzibah High School, According to Richmond County Schools’ spokesperson Israel Butler.
School administration, along with Richmond County School Safety and Security Department officers, placed Hephizbah High School and Hephizbah Middle School on a soft lockdown “to ensure the students’ safety, increase visibility of resource officers, and investigate the threat.”
So far, officials have not been able to confirm if the Facebook post exists, Israel said. However, both schools will remain on soft lockdown for the remainder of the school day.

HEPHZIBAH, Ga . – According to Dwayne Flowers, Hephzibah Chief of Police, Hephzibah High School is on a soft lock down as a precautionary measure.
Officials say threats were made on social media on Thursday, October 8th and they are continuing with extra patrol on Friday, October 9th.
