Weekend Hit-And-Run On Peach Orchard Road Being Investigated

Augusta, GA – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a hit-and-run that happened Saturday evening at 7:41 p.m. at 3671 Peach Orchard Road near the intersection with Byrd Road.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a pedestrian was walking south along the paved shoulder of Peach Orchard Road when a southbound vehicle failed to maintain its lane and drifted to the right and struck the pedestrian with the front of the vehicle, which was described by witnesses as a small vehicle, which then left the scene.

The pedestrian’s name and condition have not been released.

At this time, the Sheriff’s Office has no other leads. Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1080.
