Woman Facing Charges After Baby’s Remains Found In Washington County

Washington County, GA – According to Washington County Sheriff Thomas H. Smith, a woman is facing charges after the remains of a baby were found Saturday in Warthen, Georgia.

Investigators found the baby’s remains “after receiving reliable information” on Middle Hill Road.

Sheriff smith tells us that initial felony charges of Cruelty to Children and False Statements have been issued against 24-year-old Jessica Ballard, of Bussell Road, in Warthen.

The remains were taken to the GBI Regional Crime Lab for testing, the results of which are pending. The investigation is ongoing.
