Louisville, GA – A Wadley, Georgia man pleaded guilty Friday to several charges stemming from an incident involving the discovery of a Sandersville, Georgia woman’s body at a Wadley garbage collection site in 2014.
According to a Jefferson county Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, Anthony Mereal Lemon entered a guilty plea to each of the following charges: Kidnapping, Raping, and Murder.
He is accused of killing 28-year-old Jamiallah Mia Holmes on or about May 12th, 2014 near Wadley.
Lemon was sentenced to three life terms without parole.

Louisville, GA – A Wadley, Georgia man accused of killing a Sandersville, Georgia woman and dumping her body at a garbage collection site will be appearing at the Jefferson County Superior Court in Louisville, Georgia Friday morning.
According to a spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Anthony Mereal Lemon, who was 37 at the time of the incident, is expected to plead guilty to the murder of 28-year-old Jamiallah Mia Holmes, of the 700 block of Crabapple Drive in Sandersville, Georgia.
Holmes’ body was in a dumpster between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2914 off River Road, in Wadley.
Lemon was charged with Holmes’ murder on June 19, 2014 by investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
Lemon was charged with the following offenses:
- 1 count of Murder
- 1 count of Aggravated Assault
- 1 count of Kidnapping
- 1 count of False Imprisonment
- 1 count of Rape
- 1 count of Aggravated Sodomy
District Attorney Hayward Altman, of the Middle Judicial Circuit, had originally announced that the State of Georgia would be seeking the death penalty for Lemon in this case.
Lemon has been held in the Jefferson County Jail since his arrest
