Victim in Weekend Shooting on Cunningham Drive Dies

AUGUSTA, Ga.- We have learned that the shooting victim from over the weekend has died.

The victim is identified as 21-year-old Brittany Trantham, of the 3000 Block of Silverwood Drive. She was shot on the 2400 block of Cunningham Drive, in Augusta, just before 3:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. According to Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose, she died from the injury early Monday morning, just after midnight..

Deputies say the shooting happened after 36-year-old Shanadore Harman got in a fight with his cousin 28-year-old Jermaz Lawson.

Harman is accused of shooting at a car, hitting Lawson and Brittany Trantham.

AUGUSTA, Ga.- A man is in the Richmond County Jail after an early Saturday morning shooting.

Deputies were called to the 2400 block of Cunningham Drive in reference to an argument with shots fired.

Once they arrived, investigators say they found Shanadore Harman trying to hide under a tree.

Deputies found a handgun when they arrested Harman, as well as spent bullet casings.

A little while later, deputies were called to the emergency room and found Brittany Trantham suffering a gunshot wound under critical condition.

Investigators then learned the two calls were connected.

Another victim, 28-year-old Jermaz Lawson, of 2900 block of Hummingbird Lane in Augusta, was found. He is Harman’s cousin, according to investigators.

Investigators say Harman shot at the vehicle Lawson and Trantham were riding in, resulting in Trantham being shot.

Harman is in custody has been charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

This investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released.
