Aiken, SC – The Western Carolina State Fair will not open Tuesday evening due to the heavy amount of rain that has fallen since Monday night, according to organizers.

“We are disappointed in the weather, but the safety of our customers takes first priority,” said Doug Wolf, Director of Special Events for the fair.

The Western Carolina State Fair will open at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The theme for the the night will be “We Care Wednesday” and includes a $2 food and drink special, $25 unlimited ride bands, and free gate admission for patrons who bring five non-perishable food items, all of which will be donated to Christ Central in Aiken.

In addition, the “Ten Buck Tuesday” special, which allows fair goers to purchase a $10 unlimited ride band with gate admission, has been moved to Thursday evening.

“We don’t want the community to miss out on the fair because of poor weather” said Wolf, “so we decided to hold “Ten Buck Thursday” and give everyone another chance at the deal.”

The complete fair schedule and list of ticket locations may be found online. For more information, visit the website, or follow the fair on Facebook.
