Asimur Rahman teaches Biology at Fox Creek High School. It’s a subject he’s loved for a long time.
“I was always interested in Science,” he says. “That was my field. I always enjoyed it.”
But going from being an interested Biology student, to a dedicated Biology teacher, took things to a whole new level.
“It was no longer looking through microscopes. It was no longer looking at beakers and test tubes. I could see the reactions. I could see these kids and feel what was happening. I could see the light when it came on.”
Mr. Rahman has been called a tough teacher. There are no easy A’s in here and he likes it that way.
“I want to challenge them,” he says. “When I don’t that’s when I’ve become stagnant. And I don’t want to be a stagnant teacher.”
He’s also been active with extracurricular activities including basketball and softball.
“When you have something positive, you always look forward to it. It’s always a good thing to have that at the end of the day.”
Way to go Asimur Rahman–a teacher whose enthusiasm is contagious among all his students at Fox Creek High School.
“When kids show up with energy and want to learn and want to know, I’m all for it.”
