AUGUSTA — Two women are facing charges after the death of a 4-year-old girl in an accident on Saturday.
31-year-old Kimberly Dixon of Hephzibah has been charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, vehicular homicide in the 2nd degree and a violation of the learners permit.
Investigators say Dixon’s vehicle hit the vehicle that 4-year-old Destiny Dorsey was in.
The coroner says Dorsey wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
She died on the scene from her injuries.
30-year-old Jacqueline Hopkins of Augusta was the driver of the car that Dorsey was in.
She is being treated for injuries at the hospital and she will be charged with four counts of child restraint violation and vehicular homicide in the 2nd degree.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash.
