AUGUSTA, Ga.- A family is in mourning after 4 year-old Destiny Dorsey died Saturday in a car wreck in south Augusta.
Police say the SUV she was riding in was struck by another SUV.
The Richmond County coroner says Destiny wasn’t in a car seat at the time of the crash.
She died on the scene.
Investigators say the accident happened at the intersection of Lumpkin Road and Claudia Road because one driver ran a stop sign.
That driver is 31-year-old Kimberly Dixon.
She has been charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, vehicular homicide, and a violation of the learners permit.
30-year-old Jacqueline Hopkins was driving the vehicle that 4-year-old Destiny was in.
She was treated for injuries at the hospital yesterday.
She has now been charged with four counts of child restraint violation and vehicular homicide.
Destiny’s family members say there were three other children in the car.
The family of Destiny has set up a Go Fund Me page for donations.
We have a link to that account on our Facebook page and Twitter feed.
