Augusta, GA (WJBF) – WJBF News Channel 6’s Margaret-Ann Carter has confirmed that former McDuffie County EMS director Tim Edwards is now in Federal custody.
Edwards is in the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s Service.
He pleaded guilty to one count of Possession of Child Pornography Wednesday and accepted a plea deal worked out with the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
That deal says he will spend no longer than 10 years in prison and pay no more than $250,000 in fines.
Edwards’ attorney, Victor Hawk, confirmed this information.
Hawk says this hearing was for the judge to determine if Edwards understood his rights and was willingly waiving them.
