Warrenton, GA (WJBF) – According to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation, two people have been arrested in connection with a double murder that occurred in Warren County, Georgia earlier this year.
According to Special Agent in Charge Pat E. Morgan, the incident happened on Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
Morgan tells WJBF NewS Channel 6 that the GBI was asked to help the Warren County Sheriff’s Office with a homicide investigation that happened at a home in the 1600 block of Mitchell Road, in Warrenton.
Deputies were dispatched to the Mitchell Road home in reference to an unresponsive person. when they arrived, deputies found that 47-year-old Barry Johnson, of Mitchell, Georgia, and 28-year-old Tenecia Posley, of Warrenton, Georgia had been shot and killed. The GBI Region 7 Field Office responded and began conducting an investigation.
Thursday morning (November 19th), around 7:00 a.m., 22-year-old Donovon Raishad Fitts, of Thomson, Georgia was arrested without incident at Two State Construction Company by members of the GBI and McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office.
Fitts has been charged with two counts of Murder. Around 1:40 p.m., 24-year-old Jermanique Vashon Franklin, of Thomson, Georgia was arrested without incident at the GBI Office in Thomson. Franklin haw also been charged with two counts of Murder. Both Fitts and Franklin were released into the custody of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Morgan adds that the investigation is ongoing.
