GA Secretary Of State Facing Lawsuit Concerning Release Of Voter Information

Augusta, GA (WJBF) – Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp is facing a lawsuit, saying that that the state released personal information including Social Security numbers for more than 6 million registered voters.

Kemp’s office regularly sends an updated voter file on a CD to political parties, media organizations, and others.

Kemp stated that the personal information was put in the wrong file. The complaint says the discs contained Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and dates of birth for 6.1 million voters.
