Two Men Charged In Warrenton, Georgia Shooting

Warrenton, GA (WJBF) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating a shooting that happened in Warrenton, Georgia on Saturday, November 14th.

According to Assistant Special Agent in Charge Steve Foster, GBI was requested to assist the City of Warrenton Police Department in the investigation of a shooting incident.

The investigation revealed that Johnny Mack Coxwell confronted Paul Hill outside of Coxwell’s residence. Hill fled the location on foot and was shot once by Coxwell, resulting in a non-life threatening injury, according to Foster.

As a result of the investigation, and after consultation with the District Attorney, Coxwell was charged with Aggravated Assault in the shooting of Hill.

Warrants for Hill have also been obtained for the charges of Burglary, and Possession of Burglary Tools, which will be served upon his release from the hospital.
