Augusta, GA (WJBF) – The autopsy results have come in and Coroner Mark Bowen states 2-1/2 year old Amari Williams died of blunt head trauma.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office tells us that no traffic charges have been, or will be, filed in this case, however the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFACS) is now investigating the child’s death and the circumstances surrounding the death.

Augusta, GA (WJBF) – A toddler is dead after he was hit by a car in Augusta on Saturday.
Augusta, GA (WJBF) – The Richmond County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Amari Williams, who was 2-1/2 years old.
The accident happened in the 3600 block of Concord Court. Richmond County Sheriff’s Office investigators say a female driver backed out of her driveway and struck the boy, who lived in the neighborhood.
Amari was taken to the University Hospital Emergency Room then was transferred to Georgia Regents Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
An autopsy will be performed at the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta on Monday.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the boy’s death.
The driver has not been charged at this time.
