Evans Teen Charged, Accused Of Stabbing His Mother And Sister

Evans, GA (WJBF) – An Evans teen has been arrested and accused of stabbing his mother and 17-year-old sister.

Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 431 Long Needle Court in Evans on Saturday around 1:45 p.m. in reference to a stabbing.

While deputies were on his way to the scene, a deputy noticed a male matching the description of the suspect, wearing blood stained clothing, walking along Industrial Park Drive at Michelson Way.

The deputy detained the suspect with assistance from another deputy. The suspect identified himself as Justin Tyler Butts, who is 19-years-old. The first deputy stayed with Butts. The second deputy then proceeded to the scene of the reported stabbing at 431 Long Needle Circle and located Butts’ mother and 17-year-old sister, who had been stabbed several times. Neighbors were helping the mother and sister treat their wounds. The responding deputy checked the scene for more victims, but none were located. Gold Cross EMS transported the two females to the Georgia Regents Medical Center Emergency Room.

Butts has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Knife. There is now word, at this time, on the condition of his mother and sister.
