All year long we work to keep our fingers on the pulse of what is happening in the CSRA, in the two-state, and across the country. As the holidays approached, though, we took
the time to take a step back – to look at the stories that pull on our heart-strings or simply make us smile. That is our gift to our viewers.
For several years now we’ve brought you “The Means Report: A Holiday Celebration”. It is an episode that we look forward to producing every year, and this one was no exception.
We kick things off by introducing you to Father Roy Herberger who has been collecting nativity sets for 30 years and now has a collection of 570 – some are spiritual, some are whimsical, and 59 countries are represented. Then we introduce you to Zeke Walters, a six month old that didn’t find Santa all that mesmerizing.
Then there is the story of a homeless man, looking to spread some holiday cheer with a Christmas tree, only to have it taken away. What he taught everyone, though, was what Christmas is all about. Meanwhile, in Kentucky, police officers were passing out something other than tickets to unsuspecting citizens.
There is nothing like the light in a child’s eyes at Christmas. That was all the more evident when a group of kids, who were part of the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree project, took a once in a lifetime trip to see Santa and his workers in the “North Pole”. Yet there is another little boy who only wanted to be Santa and give to others when he was awarded a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
With the CSRA’s golfers in mind, we introduce you to a Santa that has moved from a sleigh to a golf cart to spread holiday cheer. It wouldn’t be the holidays, though, without taking the time to remember our service men and women, and their families, who have given so much to protect us all.
We hope that you enjoy our gift to you, and we thank all of our viewers for their support all year long. May you and yours have a happy and safe holiday.
