AUGUSTA, GEORGIA – A rivalry that runs deep between the Peach and the Palmetto states.
The best senior football players from Georgia and South Carolina high schools battled it out today at the 3rd annual Border Bowl. Hundreds of people from both sides of the Savannah River showed up to support their home state.
“So what brought you out here today?” asked WJBF News Channel 6’s Stefany Bornman.
Representing Barry Armstrong, Junior of South Carolina,” said Sophia Banks, who showed up to support South Carolina.
“Got a kick off on the 20 yard line. So that kind of tied up the game 14-14,” Austin Mumford, a Georgia fan said.
Despite South Carolina’s best efforts, Georgia won this time. That’s 2 wins for Georgia and 1 for South Carolina, but there’s always next year.
