Augusta, GA (WJBF) – If you don’t play, you can’t win. Yet, Saturday night’s $949.8 million dollar Powerball drawing had no winner. Now the jackpot is estimated to pass a billion dollars. WJBF News Channel 6’s Stefany Bornman breaks down what one billion dollars gets you.
16-19-32-34-57 and the Powerball was 13. All of which aren’t on my ticket! Now the jackpot is still up for grabs.
On Sunday, WJBF News Channel 6 asked several people what they would do with a billion dollars.
“Not even 1 number,” said Henry Stokes about Saturday night’s Powerball drawing.
It’s the biggest Powerball drawing in history. Since no one won Saturday night’s jackpot, the new total is now more than “A billion dollars,” said Howard Allgood, who didn’t buy a Powerball ticket. But as more people go out to get tickets it could be even more than that and that much money really starts to get people thinking, “If I had a billion dollars I would.” Stokes said.
“Probably go move out to the woods go out in the country and buy my own house and get me another truck,” Allgood told WJBF News Channel 6.
“First of all I would give 10 percent to church then I think I would get myself a new car,” said Frank Wood. Wood told WJBF News Channel 6 he was thinking about buying a Powerball ticket on Sunday.
“I would buy me a nice ride. Where I could go backwards and forward,” Stokes said.
Some people say they would put their winnings to good use. “Donate it,” said Thomas Cash. He says he would donate some of it to the Children’s Hospital.

“Help the homeless people who need help,” Stokes told WJBF New Channel 6.
So if you’re the luckiest person in the world and find yourself holding the winning ticket these are some things you can definitely buy: a trip around the moon. For sports fan, you could buy the Chicago Cubs or the Los Angeles Lakers. The popular streaming service Netflix could be all yours and you would be worth more than the author of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling. But if flashy isn’t your thing, those 6 numbers are your ticket to the life you’ve been waiting for.
“I’m 79-years-old and I would love to just get to where I could just relax,” Stokes said.
“Settle down, buy a house, and live life,” added Allgood.
Don’t be disappointed you didn’t win because you have another chance on Wednesday. That drawing will be right before WJBF News Channel 6 at 11.
