GBI Investigating Jefferson County Toddler’s Drowning In 5 Gallon Bucket

Jefferson County, GA (WJBF) – WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that a toddler drowned drowned in a 5 gallon bucket on Sunday in Jefferson County.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the children were in the kitchen of their home, where the bucket was located. The parents were reportedly in another room of the house.

One of the children reportedly told the mother that another child fell in the bucket and wasn’t breathing. The parents reportedly tried to revive the toddler, as did EMS workers.

The toddler has been identified as 17-month-old Jamarion Hill. He pronounced at the hospital at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is involved in the investigation and they have been interviewing the parents.

No charges have been filed, at this time.
