Victim Identified in Deadly Accident in Columbia County

UPDATE  11:43pm, Columbia County, GA – The Columbia County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a deadly accident on Interstate 20.  Deputy Coroner Bonnie King says 24 year old Francisco Camarillo-Lopez of Social Circle, GA, died due to blunt force trauma.   According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, the wreck happened around 3 this afternoon on Eastbound I-20 near mile marker 179.

When deputies arrived at the scene, a black Toyota Scion was located about 100 feet into the woods.  A woman, Issabella Barber, was found at the scene by deputies with a cut to her forehead and was disoriented.  She was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.

UPDATE 6:36pm, Columbia County, GA-  The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office confirms a man is dead after an afternoon accident on Interstate 20.  According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, the wreck happened around 3 this afternoon on Eastbound I-20 near mile marker 179.

When deputies arrived at the scene, a black Toyota Scion was located about 100 feet into the woods.  A woman, Issabella Barber, was found at the scene by deputies with a cut to her forehead and was disoriented.  She was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.  A man, found inside the car, was pronounced dead on the scene.  His name has not yet been released.  News Channel 6 will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.


 

Columbia County, GA-  News Channel 6 has confirmed a deadly afternoon accident on Interstate 20 in Columbia County.  Coroner, Vernon Collins, confirms a fatality on I-20 near mile marker 179 on the eastbound side of the interstate between the Thomson and Harlem exits.  There is no word on how many vehicles are involved or the identity of the deceased.  News Channel 6 will update this story as more information becomes available.
