Ring Could Provide Clues to Murder Investigation

Augusta, GA (WJBF) – Richmond County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking for the public’s help to find a gold nugget ring, that could provide leads in a December 2015 murder.

Randy Ramos was shot and killed on December 10, 2015 in the parking lot of Teleperformance, just off Wylds Road in Augusta.

Two people were arrested in connection with that crime, Tarez Gordon and Marquise Terrell Yarbary. Both men have been charged with murder. Witnesses at the scene told investigators that Ramos was arguing with two men before the shooting. The men were then seen leaving in a car with another man.

“What happens over the course of an investigation is information continues to come to us and as much information as we get we follow up on that information well the information that we’ve received thus far is leading us to a third suspect,” Sergeant Shane McDaniel explained how they became aware of the ring and a third suspect.

While investigating Ramos murder, investigators discovered that a ring Ramos was wearing the day he was killed went missing. They believe that the ring may have been stolen during the crime and that information about the ring or its whereabouts could provide leads for investigators.

“Basically the person that might be in possession of this ring might have got the ring from someone else that someone else is going to be the person that we’re looking for and going to want to talk to,” McDaniel said.

The Sheriff’s Office, as well as the family of the victim, are asking the public to come forward with any information about the ring or any other information about the case. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest or recovery of this evidence.  Anonymous callers can contact Sheriff’s Office investigators at 706-821-1020.
