Groveotwn, GA (WJBF) – A Brookwood Elementary School student has been charged after being found in possession of a pellet gun at school.
A Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched to the school on Thursday, January 21st in reference to a student having the gun at school the day before.
When the deputy got to the school, Principal Stephanie Reese told the deputy about the incident.
Reese told the deputy that two students came to her and said they were threatened the day before by the student with the gun. The students reportedly told Reese the student was showing the gun to them and said he would shoot them if they told anyone.
The boy’s mother had come to the school and took the gun back home.
The student was charged with Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds and Terroristic Threats.
The student was transported to the Columbia County Detention Center following a detention hearing and was then released to his mother after the hearing.
