Bridges Closed In Aiken After SCDOT Inspections

Aiken, SC (WJBF) – Two bridges in Aiken have been closed after being inspected by the South Carolina Department Of Transportation.

The City of Aiken was notified Thursday morning by the SCDOT officials that they were immediately closing the northbound York Street bridge and Fairfield Street bridge indefinitely.

Chesterfield Street, Newberry Street, Laurens Street, Marion Street, and Williamsburg Street are detour options within a few blocks of the affected bridges.
