Commissioner Says Administrator Should Lead Fire Investigation

(AUGUSTA,GA) Augusta’s professional fire fighters association wants new eyes to look over the purchase  those problem plagued fire rigs.
In a letter to the mayor and commissioners the association says it has been undermined and attacked by City Administrator Janice Jackson who is looking into the trucks.
The association contends 6 million dollars was missed used acquiring the vehicles
The association officials want commissioners to approve  an outside investigation  because  due to the bias nature Jackson has shown, but some commissioners don’t think that’s the case.

I will vote for her to remain on the investigation and do her job that’s what her job is and she can do her job well and is we look at the performance we have had since she’s been in town she’s done a great job,” says Commissioner Dennis Williams.

Jackson says she will discuss with commissioners next week whether a third party is needed for the investigation.
