Augusta, GA – Locally qualifying for Georgia’s non-partisan primary and special election, as well as the November election, ends at noon today. Several incumbents are facing challengers.
In Augusta Commission District 1, incumbent William Fennoy is being challenged by Denice Traina and Michael Thurman.
In Super District 9, incumbent Marion WIlliams will be challenged by Ronnie Battle.
In District 5, newcomers Andrew Jefferson and Kelby Walker will battle for that seat.
Both District 3 commissioner Mary Davis and District 7 commissioner Sean Frantom are running unopposed, barring any late additions to the race.
Several races are shaping up on Richmond County’s Board of Education. In District 1, incumbent Marion Barnes is facing opposition from Brian Green.
District 10, incumbent Helen Minchew is being challenged by Tony Whiteside.
District 4 incumbent Barbar Pulliam is being challenged by former Principal Wayne Frazier.
And District 5 incumbent Patsy Scott is being challenged by Douglas Jackson.
District 8 representative Jimmy Atkins is running unopposed.
The Board of Education election will be held on November 8th.
