America’s Bird Welcoming Newborns in the Nation’s Capital

In 2014, a pair of mated Bald Eagles chose the perfect location to nest and start a family. This nest is located within Washington, DC at the U.S. National Arboretum. This is the first Bald Eagle pair to nest in this location since 1947.

The two Eagles have been named “Mr. President” and “The First Lady.” The first of the two eggs began hatching earlier this week. We are waiting for the second egg to hatch.
