Commissioners approving restrictions on drones that would prevent their flying over events of 100 people or more or over private property without the owners permission..
The new rules will not impact commercial use of drones.
City leaders say it’s an important step for public safety.
You got a lot of private drone operators and they haven’t had the experience we want to make sure they know what’s expected of them before some one is out there flying one and it causes lots of damage lawsuits and so forth.
Violation of the ordinance would be considered a misdemeanor that could be punished by sixth days in jail and a fine of 1000 dollars
