Augusta, GA (WJBF) – Augusta city officials are feeling good about the new look at the James Brown statue in downtown Augusta.
After weeks of bare earth, crews were laying down a layer of fresh mulch to cover the site just in time for Masters.
All the landscaping was removed to make the way for new enhancements, but during that work, the roots of four trees were damaged. Replacing all the trees with four new ones is on the way.
The old trees will come out after the tournament, with the new trees being planted later in the fall.
