Local camps offer Masters Week activities for kids

Augusta, GA (WJBF) – As Masters Week rolls in, local students will be getting a break from their classrooms. Their parents, however, may still have to clock in to work.

The majority of students in our area will be on Spring Break during Masters Week, including Aiken, Columbia and Richmond Counties. But, there are options to still keep kids occupied.

The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta is one example. There are 9 locations for their Masters Week Day Camp this year — and we’re told the 30 spots for each site tend to fill up.

In addition to the learning and fun, a camp can also give parents peace of mind.

“As a parent you know – at the Y – they’re going to be safe,” said Family Y Marketing Vice President, Katie Duncan. “We include snacks and meals so they’re going to be fed hopefully a healthier lunch than what they would get at home. And just the security of knowing they’re in a safe place and we’re taking care of them.” There is still time to sign up for the Family Y’s camp.

Other options in the area include the following, but parents should contact each specific organization by clicking on the link for details like pricing:

Salvation Army Kroc Center

Jamestown Community Center

Blythe Masters Camp

Aiken Center for the Arts

Foundations Christian School – Call (706) 210-8810
