Augusta, GA – Golfers and patrons around the world know the 18 holes of Augusta National Golf Club as some of the most difficult and iconic in the sport. Add in the elements during this year’s Masters, and you get one of the coldest tournaments in nine years.
It turns out that the 2007 Masters tournament was the coldest ever in the 81-year history of the tradition like no other. This was determined by calculating the average temperature during the tournament rounds. Behind 2007 is the 1982 Masters, followed by 1934, 1950, and 1952. This year’s Masters is the 13th coldest in history, a stark contrast compared to last year, which was actually the second hottest Masters on record behind 1999. 2015 was followed by 1965, 1946, and 2011.
