Former Aiken Bank Employee Accused Of Financial Identity Fraud

Aiken, SC (WJBF) – Aiken Department of Public Safety investigators have arrested an Aiken woman on 2 counts of Financial Identity Fraud.

The woman is identified as 38-year-old Carrie Butler Caldwell, of Aiken.

On Wednesday, March 30th Regions Bank investigators notified the Aiken Department of Public Safety of a possible fraud involving a former bank employee. During the course of the investigation it was determined that Caldwell converted the victim’s funds to her personal use.

Caldwell reportedly completed these transactions while she was employed at Regions Bank.

Officials tell us that this investigation is in early stages and is continuing with the assistance of Regions Bank fraud investigators.
