AUGUSTA, Ga. – Now that the Masters is over, several road construction projects will resume or begin in the Augusta metro area, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Among those projects is the continuation of improvements to River Watch Parkway between 15th Street and River Shoals Parkway. That’s where crews will close one lane in each direction again, starting today, to install lighting and resurface the parkway. Lane closures are expected to last for about six weeks.
Also in Richmond County, intersection improvements are scheduled to begin at Deans Bridge Road and Gordon Highway. Traffic interruption is likely between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. This project is expected to take about a month to complete.
In Columbia County, Robinson Avenue in Grovetown is going to be widened from Gordon Highway to Wrightsboro Road. For the next two weeks, the road will be down to one lane at times between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday for sidewalk demolition and grading.
