Cross Creek High School students at Freedom Park Elementary's Purple Up Day celebration

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Freedom Park Elementary student council members and their principal put on an amazing Purple Up Day celebration this morning.

The kids heard remarks from Augusta Mayor Hardie Davis and Col. Robert Barker, Cyber Center of Excellence and Ft. Gordon’s Chief of Staff.

There were drills from the Cross Creek High School Military Academy.

Purple Up Day honors military children. The color purple symbolizes all the colors of the military mixed together.

The video shows teacher Roger Tomlin’s 4th and 5th grade classes singing “Man in the Mirror.”
