Young woman’s body found in National Hills home; cause of death determined

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The cause of death has been determined in the case of 22-year-old Hannah Newman, who died April 17 in an Augusta home.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says that according to the report from the GBI Crime Lab, Newman died of a drug overdose complicated by medical issues.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Coroner’s Office and Richmond County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found in a National Hills area home.

The body of 22-year-old Hannah Newman was found Sunday by her father at her home in the 1100 block of Oakdale Road.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says Newman was involved in some fights last week. An autopsy has been performed and Bowen says “no lethal trauma noted.” Toxicology results are pending and will take several weeks.
