Augusta, GA (WJBF) – Augusta has a lack of focus when it comes to bringing film productions to town.

As we first told you, on Tuesday, Augusta Film Office officials said they would not accept a plan to join forces with the Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) to lure movie makers to the Garden City..

“This means the two groups will continue to work independently, but the CVB says that will not have a major effect on what’s getting done,” said Jennifer Bowen, with the CVB.

Brad Owens, who is the president of the Augusta Film Office, says the proposal to combine the two groups was a plan that was “pretty much set up to fail”.
