Augusta, GA (WJBF) – An Augusta man is behind bars after allegedly hurting dogs at a local park.
Willie Lern Hudson was arrested at Pendleton King Park on Troupe Street. The incident report states that he had punched three dogs and a man in the face.
According to witness accounts, Hudson was punching larger dogs for chasing his smaller dog. He also threatened to punch the owner of one of the dogs.
After responding to a call regarding a man being cruel to animals, a Richmond County Deputy called Hudson over to his car. Hudson refused and began yelling at the officer. After briefly struggling with Hudson, the deputy took him into custody.
Hudson is being charged with three counts of cruelty to animals.
