Local Boy Scouts Attempt to Break a World Record

Pie Fight World Record Attempt

Lincoln County, GA – Hundreds of boy scouts converged on the Knox Scout Reservation in Lincoln County early Saturday to attempt to break the record for the world’s largest shaving cream fight.

Beating the current record of 869 people is no simple task, but that didn’t stop over 500 scouts from Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina from having a good time.

“The Boy Scouts of America really develops the character and the citizenship of young men. I’ve been very fortunate to be a product of that and to be able, as an 18-year-old, a senior at Greenbrier High School who’s about to go off to college, to be able to plan an event this large, along with the help of many staff members, both youth and adults, is very humbling.” says Reed Powell, Southern Region Area Five Section Chief with the Boy Scouts of America. Saturday’s record attempt was part of the Georgia-Carolina Council’s weekend-long event called the Dixie Fellowship.
