AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 11 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team has been selected to compete in the upcoming NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship.
The Pacers, guided by head coach Michael Carlisle, are the No. 2 seed in the Southeast Region. USC Aiken garnered an at-large bid.
The Southeast and South Regions will compete in the upcoming regional. In the Southeast Region, the 10 teams include Flagler, USC Aiken, Carson-Newman, Columbus State, Georgia Southwestern, Lincoln Memorial, Limestone, Young Harris, North Greenville and Lander. The South Region consists of Lynn, Saint Leo, West Florida, Florida Southern, Nova Southeastern, Barry, Lee, West Georgia, North Alabama and Miles.
In the regional, there are 14 nationally ranked teams.
The tournament will be played at the Mission Inn Resort and Club located at Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The regional will be hosted by the Central Florida Sports Commission and the Sunshine State Conference.
Regional play will be from May 2-4. The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals May 17-21 at Green Valley Ranch in Denver, Colo. The finals will be hosted by Metro State.
