UPDATE: Judge denies bond for teen accused of shooting woman on Cooney Circle

One man was found dead after a shooting in Augusta Saturday night.

***UPDATED 6:36 p.m. June 5, 2016***

Augusta, Ga. (WJBF) – A teenager accused of shooting a women on Cooney Circle was denied bond.

According the Assistant District Attorney Robert Homlar 18-year-old Davante D. Parks was denied bond on Friday.

Homlar says 18-year-old Parks and 29-year-old Marion Terry went to Britney McKie’s, 25, apartment and shot her.

McKie was shot six times and was transported to the hospital where she was treated.

The Assistant District Attorney says the McKie identified 29-year-old Marion Terry as the person who shot her.

Homlar says Terry got the gun from Parks.

The following morning, the 29-year-old’s body was found across the street from McKie’s apartment in the same apartment complex.

Richmond County Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose tells WJBF News Channel 6 Terry suffered gunshot wounds to the chest.

Assistant District Attorney Homlar says 18-year-old Parks was there when Terry was killed. He says it was in retaliation for shooting McKie.

18-year-old Parks is now charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, but more charges could be coming. Including conspiracy to commit murder.

Augusta, Ga. (WJBF)The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says a man found dead Sunday morning on the 1900 block of Cooney Circle had a single gunshot wound.

Marion Terry’s body was found behind apartments against a perimeter wall.

Augusta, Ga. (WJBF) The Richmond County coroner has identified the body found on Cooney Circle in Augusta on Sunday morning.

29-year-old Marion Terry of Augusta was pronounced dead the scene around 9:30 a.m.

Authorities responded to an unresponsive male on the 1900 block of Cooney Circle.

The cause of death has not been determined. Terry’s body is being transported to the G.B.I Crime Lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.

No word on any suspects at this time.

Authorities found a body on Cooney Circle just off Olive Road in Augusta.

Richmond County Deputies cannot confirm the identity of the victim.
