GROVETOWN, Ga. (WJBF) – Grovetown Mayor Gary Jones has confirmed with News Channel 6 that Vicky Capetillo, the city clerk, has been placed on administrative leave but that the investigation is ongoing.
Mayor Jones says he initiated the investigation—which resulted in the FBI and Treasury Department searching City Hall last week.
So far, no charges have been filed.
GROVETOWN, Ga. (WJBF) – News Channel 6 has confirmed with Grovetown Mayor Gary Jones that the investigation into missing money at City Hall is focusing on one employee.
That person has yet to be put on administrative leave, because the city has not been successful in making contact with them.
The raid on Grovetown City Hall happened last week, with the mayor saying he initiated the investigation. There are accusations that the amount of money missing from Grovetown could reach into the six-figure range.
The FBI along with the Treasury department are conducting the raid.
