5 burglary suspects are in custody in Aiken County

AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office says a fifth burglary suspect is now in police custody.

He was taken into custody around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. The suspect was located in an area outside of Windsor, South Carolina.

The names of the suspects have not yet been released.

AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – Aiken County investigators are searching for a burglary suspect in the area north of Windsor, South Carolina.

The suspect is one of five investigators were pursuing along State Park Road near Oak Ridge Club Road Thursday Evening when they crashed their vehicle Thursday evening.

Aiken County Sheriff Michael Hunt said all five of the suspects took off on foot. Four were caught in some woods near Carolina Star Road.  Two of those suspects were injured.  The injured suspects were taken to a hospital with injuries, but they’re expected to survive.

Investigators believe the fifth suspect is also hiding in those woods, but they caution nearby residents if you see anybody suspicious, call the Sheriff’s Office.

“We have good knowledge from somebody that spotted him that he’s still in these woods,” said Hunt, So our tracking teams along with SLED’s tracking teams are in there now, and I feel confident we’ll take him into custody.”

The names of the suspects have not been released.
