AUGUSTA,Ga (WJBF) The search is on again to find the candidate to serve as Augusta’s point person to combat discrimination.
Commissioners are interviewing 3 -new- finalists for the job of Compliance Director. The position will oversee the combined EEO, disadvantage business and ADA compliance office. In January commissioners voted to start the process all over after they couldn’t agree on the first group of finalists.
” “This is too important for us to pass it by like we have done we had three good candidates before and we couldn’t make a decision we were split we went out for some more candidates we got some more this is too important to this community for us to not go and move forward and get somebody,” says Commissioner Marion Williams.
City Administrator Janice Jackson says having to re-open the search for the office cost tax payers about 3 thousand dollars.
