AUGUSTA,Ga (WJBF) Augusta’s Riverwalk is Still not keeping up with the times.
Since the park opened 29 years ago it has included a display of different flags.
However the plaque explaining the flags hasn’t been updated.
It still includes the old Georgia flag that was changed 12 years ago, and it still shows the confederate states banner that was removed from the park in 2004,
Some visitors feel the city needs to get with the times.
“If we’re going to change it I would say it needed to be updated I mean I would think if we’re going to change one thing we need to change it all,” said KiKi Hawes who was visiting the park from Appling.
“Be very accurate especially for visitors that are coming here,” she said.
On Wednesday city leaders have scheduled an infrastructure tour of the park, for a close up look at what improvements are needed.
