Thomson, Ga. (WJBF) — During the summer months, NFL players across the country are holding youth camps to help teach kids the game of football. Thomson native and 8-year NFL veteran linebacker Jasper Brinkley maintains a different focus with his football camps though.
“Just giving the kids life lessons,” the New York Giants linebacker said. “As far as like, character, service, you know, believing in Christ, if that’s something that they do.”
“With so much going on in society right now, we definitely need them to focus in on certain things in life,” he said. “Certain aspects in life that can keep you out of trouble. Keep you out of a bad situation. We really want to hammer that home today.”
Football-wise, Brinkley is coming off a stellar season with the Giants. He was third on the team in tackles after earning the starting middle linebacker job for the final nine games of the season. This spring, the Giants signed Brinkley to a one-year contract extension.
